Installation, documentation and requirements

Idea ships as a standalone script with an automatic installer, so it takes only a few moments to install and activate. Full documentation is available online and covers everything from the installation process to an explanation of every feature and admin-area setting.

Server requirements:

• PHP 7.3 or newer (8.x versions are supported)
• MySQL 5.1+ or a related database (PostgreSQL, SQLite3, MSSQL)
• The MySQLi, GD, cURL, mbstring, intl, json, mysqlnd and xml extensions enabled
• date.timezone set to your local timezone and zlib.output_compression disabled
• Apache web server (for nginx you will need to provide the equivalent rewrite rules)
• The React and CodeIgniter 4 requirements
• Write permission on the script folder, plus database and database-user creation privileges

This stack is supported by virtually every standard host, but because environments vary it is worth confirming these extensions with your hosting provider before you buy.
